We are very pleased to assist other companies who share much the same goal of increasing health insurance and quality of life throughout Utah, said SelectHealth President along with CEO, Pat Richards. Each of those Select 25 award recipients, though varied in approach, works toward the same end-making life better for the people around them.

SelectHealth created the Select 25 prize to recognize Utah nonprofits that really work to improve wellness in their communities. Applicants have been asked to tell SelectHealth that they would use $2,500 to further their quest. More than 200 organizations applied.

We are very grateful to SelectHealth for this chance, said award beneficiary JoAnne Duke, cofounder of Hale Family Life Jacket Foundation. It is actually wonderful that they support the community and programs such as ours.

Choose 25 Award Recipients

Brigham City Mature Center (Brigham City)-Enhancing the actual lives of seniors through physical, dietary and health-related activities. Hale Family Life Jacket Foundation (Ogden)-Providing life vests at lakes and also reservoirs and recommendations about their appropriate use. Junior Group of Ogden – Oasis Community Gardens (Ogden)-Creating a safe environment where citizens can grow their very own healthy foods. Town of Deweyville – Walking Trail Growth Project (Deweyville)-Providing a safe, scenic place for residents simply to walk, run and be balanced. Whittier Community Center – Adventure Playground (Logan)–Encouraging task for all children, in spite of their physical abilities. Alliance Community Services (Salt Lake Town)-Educating the Hispanic community in regards to the importance of early cancer of the breast detection. Assistance Group – Operation Wholesome Teeth (Salt Pond City)-Providing dental products, education and immediate services to low-income people. Columbus Community Center (Salt Lake City)-Providing assistance to severely impaired individuals, from personalized care assistance to activities. EMZ Crew: Early Morning Zumba (Salt Lake City)-Facilitating a free Zumba® dance class for Polynesian women to advertise health and weight loss. Intermountain Treatments Animals (Salt Pond City)-Providing animal-assisted therapy to children and adults in private hospitals, nursing homes, psychiatric establishments and detention centers.
