UCLEAR HBC100: The World's First Boom-Less Helmet Communicator

Audio communications vendor BITwave USA has developed the industry's first boom-less microphone helmet communicator, the UCLEAR HBC100.

The Bluetooth-enabled headset was designed with patented Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and active noise cancellation technology, which helps filter out wind, engine noise and other sounds that tend to interfere with the communications of motorcyclists, snowmobilers, skiers and snowboarders. The noise cancelling technology is effective up to 147 miles-per-hour.

BITwave's UClear HBC100 provides a host of features that should entice any motorcycle junkie or outdoor sport enthusiast. Users can make hands-free mobile phone calls and communicate with fellow riders through a helmet to helmet intercom. UClear HBC100 owners can also wirelessly stream, control and listen to their music through a pair of powerful Hi-Fidelity Speakers.

The headset is loaded with the latest Bluetooth technology, enabling users to connect it to a myriad of phones, MP3 players and GPS devices.

Possibly the best feature of the UClear HBC100, according to RevZilla , is the fact that the headset does not require a boom. This means that riders don't have to deal with hassle of talking into a microphone while bombing down the highway.

"For those of you out there who have a long, narrow head shape or find that whatever helmet you are in doesn't afford you a ton of clearance in the front, this is a phenomenal option," says Anthony with RevZilla TV in a review of the product.

The UClear HBC100 provides support for voice command call pickup and is designed with a weatherproof structure that can handle dust, rain and snow. The headset offers talk time of up to 10 hours, standby time of up to two weeks and a charging time of two hours. The kit includes the HBC 100 Control unit, two Velcro stereo headset speakers with embedded microphones, mounting brackets as well as a 110 Volt AC charger and USB charging cable.

The UCLEAR HBC100 retails on RevZilla for $199.95.
