Las herramientas de seguridad de Norton no necesitan presentación. Disponibles desde hace años en el mercado, Norton Antivirus, Norton Internet Security o Norton 360 son algunos de los productos de seguridad más vendidos, y aunque Symantec no se ha apresurado a ofrecer una opción de seguridad para los usuarios de smartphones, al final ha cumplido con la demanda de los usuarios.

Aún en Beta, Norton Mobile Security para Android ofrece amplias opciones de protección para el usuario.  No sólo protege contra el phishing en la web y el malware , sino que bloquea el terminal en caso de que el usuario lo pierda o se lo roben, bloquea el spam y las llamadas no deseadas y realiza filtrado de los SMS , además de otras opciones de limpieza.

Pero lo mejor de todo es que su presencia ni se nota. Esta ha sido una de las máximas de la compañía desde que se plantearon su desarrollo, porque cuando se habla de tarifas móviles, aunque sean planas, un antivirus no puede permitirse el lujo de ralentizar la conexión del usuario con la red. El funcionamiento de Norton Mobile Security 2.0 tampoco se nota en el rendimiento del terminal ni en la vida de batería del mismo.

Estableciendo una contraseña podrá bloquear el terminal en caso de que se te pierda o creas que te lo han quitado.

Cada vez que se descargue una aplicación Norton Mobile Security 2.0 realizará una exploración en busca de malware. Una opción que seguro que muchos usuarios echaron en falta cuando a primeros de este año se detectaron decenas de aplicaciones en Android Market con malware. Esta opción, por cierto, se puede desactivar cuando puedan aplicarse tarifas de roaming de forma que el usuario no termine pagando una cantidad astronómica.

Otra gran característica es la capacidad de Norton Mobile Security 2.0 de bloquear llamadas y SMS.

Actualmente Norton Mobile Security 2.0 se ofrece de manera gratuita durante un periodo de un par de semanas, después de las cuales el usuario tendrá que pagar.
